ReplyDeleteBedroom tax applies to council housing not privately owned dwellings
council means owned by the local authority - ie oublic ownership
Thanks for the insight on the bedroom tax. I do not understand it as you present it but surely will check my facts and make any and all corrections needed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads-up.
ok Gerry - I have read SOOOO many stories on this but these stories never reference the social housing side of things -
ReplyDeleteStories like: "Bankruptcy filings increase over bedroom tax" I run across all the time and in all the stories I have read not one has mentioned the social benefits side of the story.
A correction will go out next week - a clarification -
Thanks for keeping the show honest.
Was it me, that woman caller sounded a lot like EMILY ;)
ReplyDeleteDennis, look at this online article about how this "Tax" affects Disabled people and their carers. Might give you a better insight into what's the real agenda at work here:

Also this one for the legalese pertaining to the bedroom Tax:

Heh, Dave - me thinks it is "just you". Not sure what happened to Emily but she lives on in the intro bumper....she is kinda famous too...
ReplyDeleteShe was once thinking of doing a show and I spoke at length with her about the real level of commitment it requires.
I think the talk discouraged her and she shortly left the scene.
Hi Foon -
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to do something on the bedroom tax for quite some time and never really looked into it until being corrected above...
I always read articles about it but the underlying politics, as discussed, were never really known on my side.
It looks like a really good story to cover since we have such a good base in the UK/Ireland/Scotland areas.
