Food and Biotech Industry Spends Over $17m to Fight GM Labeling
In an effort to set the pace nationally, $23 million has been spent in
total from both sides of the fence regarding the controversial genetic
modification of food distributed in the U.S. for human consumption. In
fact, the food and biotech industry has spent more than “$17 million” on
the Washington Initiative Measure #522[1] alone, in
a last-ditch effort to block GM labeling from consumers to attempt to
control the national norm by going from state to state with ill
intentions according to at least one report.
