IMO Dr Rhome should be the regular host and Dana should wait a few years. Latter currently suffers from a complete butterfly consciousness, no logical rigor in keeping to the topic of discussion. Could someone help shed light on why Catholicism in Germany, Austria and Switzerland has such a radically different flavor than it does in Ireland, America and Portugal? It is not without reason that when many of us think of Catholicism in Ireland, we think of something ugly and harmful, while, at the same time, when we think of Catholicism in Germany, we tend think of something that is far more pleasant and natural.

IMO Dr Rhome should be the regular host and Dana should wait a few years. Latter currently suffers from a complete butterfly consciousness, no logical rigor in keeping to the topic of discussion. If you think of an implication don't go wandering down yet another byway to explore it thereby screwing up the primary statement but write the thought down on a notepad and go back to it later.
That said, the show was generally good enough to keep listening but AD seemed at risk of falling into holes when thorny questions were asked by the callers after 1hr when he'd have been better off leaving Dr Rhome to field them.
1. why didn't the show start with a brief word or two on empirical experiences of mysticism to put in context why all these religious writings even exist at all? William James "Varieties of Religious Experience" type stuff. A long way in there was the throwaway comment that it's obvious religions are mind control (I agree, maybe, since I still have no reason to believe someone else's word above mine that they've heard from Universe/God/Whatever); but if so, then why bother spending two hours disussing the subject at all?
2. Dana is a callow youth and would have been a better host to let his guest speak more which as noted above, would have been also to his own advantage.
