THIS NEEDS TO COME BACK LIKE YESTERDAY! You nerds can go and pudry up the GUI all you like e.g. Australis. But why do you have to trample over the things that made Firefox great? Was it too much to just leave Firefox the way it was (and, thankfully still is in the 24 ESR?). I don't know what I'll be using Once you guys decide to turn the Tap on this Version too? But, I can tell ya I'll be (and, currently am) searching for something to replace Firefox as my Browser. As its becoming more, and more clear that the Mozilla Devs have simply lost every plot.
This may have been hinted at for Months on end in these "Dark Corners" I really shouldn't have to be arsed into having to post something so trite as this. I know that this will never get to where it needs to go, and, no One will read it either. But, you're turning this Once great Browser into a Windows 8 Grade "A" Turd!
Please stop this crap...
Signed a unhappy Firefox user....

BTW, has anyone tried Pale Moon?
I couldn't have said it any better. Ever since the latest version forced its way on my computer, it crashes and produces the blue screen of death. Of course the idiot mod at Mozilla says FF can't cause the pc to crash. Something in the new update has a serious problem with my video card.
ReplyDeleteThe update came on the 19th of December and the crash began about 4 days later each time I opened FF up. Sometimes I don't use FF and when I did, it crashed. I still need to check it in safe mode, why I am not sure but the mod suggested it.
It sucks right now because I use it to download those stubborn files (chrome won't download) from Kiwi6 here at Mami's.
havent had crashes yet - flash freezes up but it did that in previous versions.
ReplyDeletei use xp home edition btw
@ 1776blues, I've been able to download mp3s from kiwi with Chrome by right clicking the download link and choosing "save link as" if you're on windows that should work on your end too.
ReplyDeleteAs for FF causing the blue screen of death seems far fetched to me but who knows. I've been testing the Pale Moon browser (link is on the post) all afternoon and I really like it. It's kind of being on FF 20 or something. It's open source and they have a simple tool to import passwords, settings, add-ons and bookmarks. I'm already using it as a default browser.
I suggest you test it if you still can't download kiwi mp3s with Chrome like I mentioned above.
Best of luck to you.
You might also need to disable some crappy plugins in Chrome by typing in the address bar " chrome://plugins/ "
ReplyDelete@Zapoper............I was able to at one time sometimes with a little difficulty. However, since my recent FF debacle I can't. And frankly speaking, I cannot figure out what the hell happened. I can download other mp3's here with ease.
ReplyDeleteMaybe its my ISP, Time Warner, or maybe something is seriously wrong with Chrome. One example of my ISP being a pain is I cannot directly connect to Incogman's website. I have to use one of those hide your IP services.
I just downloaded Pale Moon and will try it.
I am going through them now. What I may do is change the setting to "click to play".
If all else fails I will save my favs, uninstall Chrome and reinstall it. I'll report back.
Thanks Zap. Also, some of the players don't show at all and the first player listed always stops on my.
Yeah its sad, apparently Firefox is hell bent on suicide. Try Pale Moon (Firefox lite) I think you'll like it.
ReplyDeletePs
As far as Google chrome... I remember the original license agreement that stated they own ALL YOUR information and they'll do whatever the hell they want with it BITCH.
FF has a habit of deciding to download its latest version and without consent. If I get a choice, I think I will stick with the version I have now.
ReplyDeleteChrome is excellent for downloading YT vids. YT Download keep reminding me to down load its latest version. The one I have works fine, not game to try the latest version.
A couple of years ago over a period of about three weeks my computer would crash two or three times every night. Sometimes I would have trouble restarting it. I was using FF, perhaps that was because of FF. Last time my computer crashed was 13 months ago.
Actually a "Tech" Q/A or perhaps a "tech" post where we can air our successes and failures wouldn't be a bad idea.
If you like FF the way it is now, just go into tools/options/advanced/updates and tick on " Never check for updates "
ReplyDeleteThanks Zap, I'll look into that
ReplyDeleteI use WaterFox, it's 64bit only.
