Kapner brought up the issue of Obama's eligbility for President, saying he's not eligible because he wasn't born in the U.S.
Actually, this is a diversion, and I was taken in by it since 2008 as well, until 2013.
The Constitution requires that the President be a natural born citizen, and not a native born citizen. The Naturalization Act of 1790 clarified the meaning of natural born, which is someone born to parents both having U.S. citizenship.
It didn't define the meaning of natural born, instead only clarifying, since Congress was only given the power to make rules concerning naturalization (how one could become a citizen).
Since Obama was born to a non-U.S. father, he is therefore not eligible for President, and this is the single point that Phil Berg and Orly Taitz and other supposed leaders of this issue should've been making from the beginning, to the exclusion of all other arguments against his eligibility.
