I'm not too sure about this entropy idea either. Surely whether it's a closed system or not it's just a theory, and what's a closed system? Who says we're in a closed system? Isn't that another theory as well? It's swapping one lot of rules someone's just made up for another. I don't think Charlie doesn't believe in God, but he's damaged from going overboard in the past, so this is the pendulum effect, where he rejects too much of that which HE went overboard in by believing word for word. It will all level out over time; much like his idea that things have gotten so bad all of a sudden as opposed to have always been the same and he's just being exposed to it right now.
Entropy ONLY applies to a closed system. The Earth is NOT a closed system because of the sun.

As sentient beings, we have the opportunity
to supercede the creation/destruction cycle.
