It's funny that Nazi is a Provence is southern Iran. The word means "adorable or cute". "Ashk" in Farsi means tear, as in tears from the eyes. "ge" is a form of the word "of". So to a Persian the word Ashkenazi sounds like "tears of the adorable". I'm not saying there is a ryme or reason to it but it's interesting.
