The announcement, marking the first time a serving Israeli prime minister has been put on official notice of planned prosecution, deepened uncertainty over Netanyahu’s prospects in a tightly contested election to be held in April.
Netanyahu, who has denied any wrongdoing in the three long-running corruption investigations against him, was due to deliver a televised statement later in the day. He has already said he has no intention of resigning.

Israel Prohibits Anonymous Online Political Content Ahead of April Election
40 days ahead of the general election in the country, Israel’s
Central Elections Committee has issued a decree on Wednesday extending
existing propaganda law, which prohibits anonymous political
publications, to content posted online.
The decision, made by the committee’s chairman
Hanan Melcer, came following a petition filed in December by social
activists, to which the ruling Likud party was the only party to
explicitly object.
South Africa: ANC Will Seize White Property in Cities, Not Just Farms, Says President
White-owned property in South Africa’s cities and towns will be
seized along with white farms in order to provide “high-density housing”
for blacks, and whites are to blame for the country’s collapsing train
services, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced.
Addressing a meeting of “traditional leaders” in the Cape Town City Hall on Wednesday this week, as part of the ANC’s election campaign, Ramaphosa also blamed Apartheid [read whites] for African backwardness and the fact that blacks are always poor.
“Land in cities and towns must be identified for seizure without compensation upon which high-density housing can be developed so that ordinary South Africans can live close to their places of work,” Ramaphosa told the meeting.
“Apartheid distributed people outside of the major cities. The poor lived outside the cities, and the rich inside them,” he continued.
“Just like other world cities, South Africa had to develop high-density housing in the city and town centers, and the government was going to use the seizure of land without compensation program to identity suitable land within the urban areas.
“This is going to reduce the living costs of the poor who will then not have to travel so far to their places of work,” he said.
This is the first open confirmation that it
is not just farms which are going to be seized under the “no compensation”
rules scheduled to be introduced in March 2019, but also white properties in
urban areas.
Ramaphosa went on to blame whites for the collapsing railway infrastructure in South Africa, even though the ANC has ruled the country for the last 25 years.
He acknowledged that the public transport infrastructure was very poor and that it cost the South African economy dearly. He undertook to “pull the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) right” after a new series of criminal corruption scandals recently shook the state-owned rail transportation system.
“Some train stations in the townships [the black suburbs] are closed. People do not use them anymore because of crime and the unreliability of the train system,” Ramaphosa told the meeting, adding that this too was due to the “heritage of apartheid [read whites] which left us with poor public transport systems.”

The listings include more than a dozen versions of the infamous anti-Semitic forgery, “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion,” as well as a dozen copies of Adolf Hitler’s “Mein Kampf.” Also available is Henry Ford’s “The International Jew,” another seminal anti-Semitic tract. Defendant Who Raped a Child Because of Philadelphia’s Sanctuary City Policies Is Sentenced to Prison for Illegal Reentry
PHILADELPHIA, PA – United States Attorney William M. McSwain
announced today that Juan Ramon-Vasquez, a citizen of Honduras, was
sentenced today to 21 months’ imprisonment, to be served consecutive to
his state sentence, for his federal crime of illegal reentry to the
United States after deportation. The federal sentence was imposed by
United States District Judge Nitza I. Quiñones Alejandro. In May 2009,
Ramon-Vasquez was deported from the United States to Honduras. In March
2014, he was found back in the United States by U.S. Department of
Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (“ICE”)
officers. At that time, Ramon-Vasquez was in the custody of the
Philadelphia Department of Prisons.
The City of Philadelphia thereafter chose not to comply with a detainer lodged by ICE for Ramon-Vasquez, who was instead released from custody by the Philadelphia Department of Prisons. After his release, Ramon-Vasquez proceeded to repeatedly rape a young child. The defendant is currently serving a sentence of 8 to 20 years in state prison for the rapes.
The City of Philadelphia thereafter chose not to comply with a detainer lodged by ICE for Ramon-Vasquez, who was instead released from custody by the Philadelphia Department of Prisons. In a confidential report, which the SPIEGEL has seen, the BND warns that mafia organizations from Nigeria could spread in Germany. The strong influx of Nigerian asylum seekers, who increasingly traveled from Italy to the Federal Republic, will lead to a sprouting of "extremely brutally acting Nigerian structures of organized crime," says the intelligence service, citing its own findings and those of other security agencies.
In 2018, more than 10,000 Nigerians applied for asylum in Germany, which represents an increase of 30 percent compared to the previous year. Experts from the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (Bamf) and the Federal Police attribute this development primarily to the so-called secondary migration within Europe. According to this, many Nigerian refugees, mainly from Italy, where more than 100,000 people are now registered from the African country, are moving further north. One of their main destination countries is Germany.
Criminal groups from Nigeria such as the Supreme Eiye Confraternity or Black Ax have formed in recent years in Italy already solid structures and act there sometimes "at eye level" with the domestic mafia, analyzed the BND. In Italy and Spain, the police and the judiciary regarded these gangs as a particular threat. The criminal organizations were now trying to expand their criminal activities to Germany. Among Nigerian migrants, according to the BND report, there are many victims of traffickers who bring huge profits to criminals.
The International Organization for Migration estimates that as many as 80 percent of Nigerian-born women who can reach Europe are sexually exploited. Smugglers force them into prostitution, often involving psychological violence and voodoo rituals . According to investigators, women have to work out enormous sums of money, which most of them members of criminal organizations lose again. More than 90 percent of women trafficked from Nigeria to Europe are from Benin City , according to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
According to BND findings, Nigerian traffickers are now relocating refugees to Europe via the West Mediterranean route. However, more and more often papers from compatriots who are already in Europe are used to smuggle similar-looking people by plane.
Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa and has the greatest economic power of all Sub-Saharan countries. Yet almost two-thirds of Nigerians live in extreme poverty.

So far, schools have been closed across the region for three snow days and it looks like more are coming.We had a dump of beautiful white snow up here in coastal southern BC today as well. In fact I just finished shoveling 3 inches of global warming in my driveway. Since the snow was all white, I am waiting for a "Canadian of colour" to file a human rights complaint. Under Canadian human rights law, taxpayers pay for complainants' legal bills win or lose, while defendants usually have to mortgage their houses to mount a defence. These human rights actions are adjudicated by a kangaroo court (aka the Human Rights Tribunal) consisting of "judges" who lack juridical training. Then again, show trials really don't require knowledge of the law, do they? You just have to be a fat ugly hyper feminist replica of former Stasi agent and sunshine girl Anette Kahane, Angela Merkel's right hand "man".
