A whole lot of people (most) don't have the faith they think they have because they have never read the book. What surprises me is they aren't even curious about why it is what they think they know makes no sense... it was given to them from the lips of liars... i'm not saying that... Jesus said that...

I don't follow the bible anymore (but think treat others well and there is a grand designer). This guy is trying to include the old testament as evil and only use the new testament, but the new testament uses the old testament as a reference. The saduces and pharisees devilish teachings were distortions of the old testament. The saduces did not believe in an afterlife, the pharisees did. Jesus said do what the teachers teach but do not do what they do, because they do not do what the old testament said to do themselves, hypocrites. Anyhow Confucius taught there is a heaven and do the golden rule (do not do to others what what you do not want done to you) in double negative,which I think is better, ie. do not do others what you do not want done to you (evidentally many religions have this or similar, even the Talmud, although the old testament only has love god and your neighbour found in two new tastament gosples as opposed to one gospel that has the do to others what you do not want do not want done to you). Confucius was 700 years (about)before jesus. All i know is i have a lot of questions and no satisfactory answers. What i do know is this thing is playing out according to the bible and the churches, media, and all the talking heads have people believing things are being said or implied in the book that are not in there... it behooves people to invest some time figuring out what is really written in there.
Has it ever made any sense that an all-loving, all knowing deity would have chosen people? Or could it be the Jews (inwardly, outwardly... whatever) are the chosen ones of a God they created? The character of Jesus, whether man or myth, tells you straight up the Jew's God is Satan... figure it out... pick up the book and read the goddam thing.
I read it many times. Now I think it was doctored. Itself says in the New testament, in two gospels quoting the Old testament: love god and man sums up the old testament (law and prophets) but this is probably not what Jesus said, it is the golden rule, do unto others what you would have done to you that sums up the old testament. Confucius said the double negative , do not do to others what you do not want done to you, about 700 years before. Confucius was a clerk, and Jesus could read. They would have written things down. I believe their writings have been destroyed and replaced

How can it be claimed the bible is written for Christians when the first five books are the Jewish Torah, which lays out the law for the Jews as given to them by Moses? Those laws were not meant for gentiles, they were given to the Jews expressly because they refused live according to their spiritual nature, desiring only the carnal.
For a fact, all of the old testament tales are about the death and enslavement of the gentiles, the theft of their land and wealth... destruction of their Gods, their ways, their traditions and their ancestral knowledge. And now i have to ask what happened to Tartary? I can't be convinced Tartary was evil when all i see is beauty and it's been/being destroyed before our eyes... seems like everything is descending into muck, including the nature of most humans.

I just say there is a great designer (some type of god) and do to others how you want to be done to you, and don't worry about religions.
