Mischa Popoff – When The Power Goes Out The Water’s Gone
Some of the Stuff about HUGE Quantities of DRIED-Beans, and Rice, are Very TRUE! (Store These in "Food-Grade": 5-Gallon-Plastic-Storage-Bins) ... Also how they mentioned: "Fat"!
The Poorest Folks in India Eat: Rice and Dhal (Beans!)
WHOLE Mung Beans, Could be "Eaten" after Soaking ... (In a few-days THEY are "Sprouts"!)
In an Indian "Spice"-Store you can ALSO GET: "Split Dhal"s --> Obviously These Do-Not LAST as-Long as the Almost-FOREVER: WHOLE-Dried-Beans! --> But These Split-Dhals, along with Not-WHOLE-(ie split)-Lentils COOK very very Easily! ;-)
Maybe the VERY EASIEST Preparation is Called: "Kichari" -- which is Simply: Cooking Split-Dhal WITH Rice! Soaking even these Split-beans, and rice Over-Night is ALWAYS a GOOD-Practice. And Yes! -- CERTAINLY RINSE Before-Cooking! (Beans are Best-Rinsed in-a-Sieve - Especially IF No-Water-Shortage!)
---> BUY HUGE-Quantities of "Ghee" (which is Similar to "Clarified-BUTTER") -- This LITERALLY: LASTS Indefinitely! (Yes! Ghee is "Expensive" ... compared to Rice&Beans! -- but You can Use-SMALL-Amounts per Meal, If You Want, so that a LARGE-Quantity will Do-You: For Months and MONTHS!)
Buy WHOLE-Spices (except for YELLOW-Turmeric-(which is)-POWDER!) And Keep These in Sealed-Glass-Jars (Like Empty-Pickle-Jars)
HEAT some Ghee in a Small-Pot: WHOLE on Higher-Heat to Crack-them, OR just a Little on Medium-Heat IF: You Finely-GRIND-them-First! (in a Dedicated-Separately-"coffee-mill")
Buy a HUGE amount of DRIED-Red-Chillies (These + Turmeric Cooked-in-GHEE > will PRESERVE Your HEALTH!)
And, of course HUGE Quantities of Himalayan-Rock-Salt (Which is Pinkish, as big-crystals, or Finely-Ground)
--> IF anyone WANTS me to Elaborate-a-bit-More: Please-Ask! :-)
