Enoch Powell & Jonathan Miller Debate Issues Around UK Immigration

The Man with the extra large bagel sniffer does his best to confuse Powell but to no avail...Such a conversation would never be allowed nowadays.

  1. His phrase to the British about us witnessing "rivers of blood" was targeted for decades as an over-zealous, hateful rant.... but it's strange how after this approach in the 70s and 80s, you rarely hear it being either used or indeed attacked in the current era...

Maybe a prediction whose time has now manifested - for even the most blindly "progessive" types who can no longer escape the tenticles of enforced multi culturalism.

  2. Yeah, Powell was a prophet in many ways and never would have been allowed on the political stage in today's political climate. Thanks for the insights --- good to see someone from the ConCen days.....oh the memories! - lol

  3. Oooh, no no no... Our friends in 'the tribe' would employ their chicken manure fuelled, minority report type linguistics machinery to prevent any statement close to Powell's from even being uttered...
And yet Powell's rivers flow pretty well in this land, unless you're nicely sequestered in an English country estate, complete with medieval moat.

I've just clicked that 'Scorpio'was another handle from the concenTral days. It's good to see that a few ppl have collected together longer term from that forum, which last time I checked was still ticking over.

Yup, memories from some hectic times over there. It was like a family soap opera in the early days of the forum. I recall some group threatening to put a bit out on one of the admins over being banned :-) ! Sure there are many more tales of hilarity from those days if I dusted off a few memory cells.

  5. Miller grew up in St John's Wood, London, in a well-connected Jewish family. His father Emanuel (1892–1970), who was of Lithuanian descent and suffered from severe rheumatoid arthritis, was a military psychiatrist and subsequently a paediatric psychiatrist at Harley House. His mother, Betty Miller (née Spiro) (1910–1965), was a novelist and biographer who was originally from County Cork, Ireland. Miller's elder sister Sarah (died 2006) worked in television for many years and retained an involvement with Judaism that Miller, as an atheist, always eschewed.

I wonder if Enoch was Jew-wise?

  6. I'm guessing Enoch was Zio aware if not so much wise.

Like most of the post War British population the focus was far more on the Windrush era off-loading followed by the Asian waves that flowed shortly after.

The Jewish issue has a longer and more covert history where nefarious influence could be exercised just as effectively from outside the nation and by many more less obvious mechanisms than just the obvious factors that emerge from flooding a civilization in the literal sense.
