With the ongoing Israeli assault against Palestinians in Gaza leaving 213 dead so far, journalist Abby Martin has released her film Gaza Fights for Freedom online to watch for free.

The film presents the story of the Great March of Return protests, which took place between March 2018 and December 2019.

Those demonstrations saw Palestinians in Gaza, who are mostly refugees, peacefully protest for their rights on the boundary line with Israel.

Israel responded with brute force, including sniper fire, killing more than 215 Palestinians.

Another 30,000 were injured, many permanently maimed.

You can watch it in the video player above. It can also be watched on YouTube, although the platform has age-restricted the film, meaning users must enter credit card or ID details.

I first saw a suicide drone in a sci-fi movie 10 years ago. The movie was set in the dystopian future, where corporate actors used state of the art loiter drones to hunt down rivals, the drone is small, an aircraft with foldable wings, in loiter the drone flies at max endurance with wings full extended, then in kill mode the drone folds it’s wings and fires a small rocket that accelerates to mach just before impacting the target (a human) and goes right through killing the target instantly with no explosive, the mass of the drone is used as the projectile.

The drone uses Ai and face recognition to identify the target, programmed in. Now fast forward to present day we now have suicide drones, and that movie was prophetic, as was ‘They Live” which showed hovering surveillance drones.

I thought we could mark this November the 5th, a day that is sadly no longer remembered, by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat.

Why? Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, think, and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission.

More than four hundred years ago a great citizen wished to embed the fifth of November forever in our memory. His hope was to remind the world that fairness, justice, and freedom are more than words, they are perspectives. So if you've seen nothing, if the crimes of this government remain unknown to you, then I would suggest you allow the fifth of November to pass unmarked. But if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek, then I ask you to stand beside me one year from tonight, outside the gates of Parliament, and together we shall give them a fifth of November that shall never, ever be forgot.
