Panz, I would totally believe your Saturn V hologram assertion, especially if there was a YouTube about it, but in April 1970 I was actually in the VAB only feet from the rocket as it was being prepped for roll-out and can attest that it was very real.
Also, in December 1972 I drove over to the Cape to watch the nightime launch of Apollo 17 and, while they could have faked the visual effects, they couldn't have faked the extreme acoustic effects... just sayin'
