Dave, there is so much confusion over this Russia/ Ukraine story it is unreal! Have you listened to any of Russell Bentley's stuff? He has a YT channel, and he is a commie, but he lived in Ukraine for years, his point of view is worth a listen. He has been on Rense a number of times.
