Reason I posted... the red poppies in the video reminded me to share a nifty prepper tip with y'all.
Papaver Rhoeas, the red poppy, is a great source of pain relief, both the dried crushed seed pods; which can be brewed into an 'opiate' tea; or the latex, if you are lucky enough to find some; which can best be inhaled as a constituent of a cannabis joint, with organic tobacco of course.
The tea is great for quelling mild irritation up to medium pain, while the latex is better for severe pain, such as a raging toothache.
While researching this miracle of God and nature, I discovered that the red poppy grows prolifically on a disrupted soil, which might explain why it grew on the battlefields of Flanders and Northern France... God works in mysterious ways, his wonders to perform!
Couple of tips for potential backyard farmers; you will reap more latex with a good rich soil + compost tea... on a lean soil you will tend to get just seeds and pods; it's best to sprinkle the seeds around before the winter, then pluck out the weeds at the start of the spring, and disrupt the soil a bit.
