I rode Trains many times in India ... sometimes a trip took 3-4 DAYS!-- "Memorable" ...But NOT because of ANY "scenery" !!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-o
In some ways, the hobo narrative is symbolic of freedom, adventure...and defiance of the law. Certainly a major piece of Americana that is often overlooked and soon to be forgotten.
