The bill makes no mention of Israel directly, but prevents public entities from contracting with businesses engaging in the “boycott of a person or an entity based in or doing business with a jurisdiction with whom South Carolina can enjoy open trade.”

Move to Israel and don't let the door hit you in the a$$.
Just a thought, but since Israel is not named specifically, can't this law be used against companies who have engaged in boycotts against countries like Iran or Syria. Maybe I'm reading it wrong but it seems it can backfire on those who kiss Israel's ass.

1776blues, perhaps their lawyers can get around that by saying South Carolina doesn't have a trade embargo with Iran, and that it's actually the U.S. federal government that has exclusive jurisdiction over that, and they are the ones carrying out the embargo (only barring U.S.-based companies from trading, and not multinational corporations operating primarily in the U.S., of course).
