Today: Dr. David Duke and Kay Whalen go deeply into the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde metaphor and how all of us are torn by conflicting desires and impulses, and frankly most humans are almost robotically driven by a voice that they don't really control. They know what they should do about diet or exercise or work, or education, or in a relationship to make things better but they don't do it. Why? It's almost as if someone is whispering in their ear against what they consciously know they want to do. We consciously say I have to study, but the other voice says, "no its comfortable on this couch watching TV, Studying will be boring, and beside we can do that later. We only live once right?" This uncontrolled voice can get so strong we don't even clearly hear the voice, it is right below the surface directing us robotically in the moment. The solution is to bring this conversation to the surface and confront it, and show why the voice is wrong with logic and then declare your choice of action.
