Ed Corrigan on destruction of Libya; Binoy Kampmark on Bin Laden myths

First hour: Canadian lawyer and journalist Ed Corrigan specializes in immigration and refugee law – and in speaking truth to power. A recent Common Dreams article quotes his Press TV interview: "Libya was quite a stable and very prosperous country in the past; it had free healthcare, free education, and a lot of benefits for the Libyan population. There was no mass immigration from Libya at that time. But when the West weighed in and overthrew Gaddafi, basically Libya was turned into a failed state. In this situation, people would be desperate to get out of that terrible environment. This [turmoil] in Libya is a creation of the West, and exactly the same is happening in Syria."

Second hour: Dr. Binoy Kampmark's new article "Why the Surprise? Lies, Lies, and The Death of Bin Laden" points out that:

"...little regarding accounts of the man’s life, be it his vocation as a terrorist, or his ultimate death, could ever be regarded as credible. All that he seemed to touch turned to myth. The cult of mendacity has met the cult of the disingenuous, from the time the 'War on terror' was declared to the pornographic violence of Zero Dark Thirty, a sort of haloing of the American effort against unmitigated evil that culminated in that fatal night in Abbottabad."

Dr. Binoy Kampmark was a Commonwealth Scholar at Selwyn College, Cambridge. He lectures at RMIT University, Melbourne.

Dr. Duke started the show talking about how financial markets can be manipulated and abused via such means as insider trading. Any group with cohesion, and none have as much ethnic cohesion as the Jews, can cooperate within a market context to support each other and gain advantage over outsiders. Dr. Duke shared his experiences working for a Jewish broker as a young man.
Dr. Slattery joined the show and gave his own story about the minor role he played in a major financial crisis. He explained how the markets can be manipulated not just with insider information, but also by the spreading of information through financial news outlets (which are themselves dominated by you know who). Such information, including false rumors, can move the market, and even small movements that last for only a few minutes can provide major players the opportunity to make big money.
