New York state lawmakers have proposed a ban on anonymous online comments.
Called the Internet Protection Act (A.8688/S.6779), the legislation would require a web site administrator to pull down anonymous comments from sites, including “social networks, blogs forums, message boards or any other discussion site where people can hold conversations in the form of posted messages.” (rinf.com with the up to date stuff)

Explosion at Williams Olefins plant in Geismar; 30 or more may be injured

An explosion occurred at the Williams Olefins plant in Geismar, La. on Thursday morning, possibly injuring more than 30 people, according to officials.
DEQ spokesperson Jean Kelly said 30 people were transported from the scene by ambulance, and three or four were evacuated by medical helicopter.
