LCDR Walter Francis Fitzpatrick, III served honorably for 25 years in the U.S. Navy. He was a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy in 1975. He retired a a Lieutenant Commander of the US Navy in 2000. CDR Fitzpatrick is one of five survivors of a total of nine servicemen on board the “Desert Duck” helicopter which crashed in the Persian Gulf in 1987. During his years of service, he received the following honors, commendations and medals
