This program is both helpful and frightening. Be aware that there is a lot of fluoride in breakfast cereals, esp. Kellog's. There's fluoride in instant tea, too.

If you've had a root canal, you'll be paranoid. Biological dentists are few and far between. See "Root Canal Cover up" by George Meinig. For general dental help, see "Cure Tooth Decay" by Ramiel Nagel and "How to Save your Teeth" by David Kennedy, the man and dentist interviewed here by Deanna Spingola.

If you buy his DVD on fluoride, the book he wrote comes free in PDF format.

Root canal - one possible solution is extended application in the pulp chamber of calcium hydroxide i.e. not just for a couple of days but for a full month-6weeks. This is thought to permeate the many miles of tubules that make up the remaining tooth structure rendering them highly alkaline and inimical to bacterial residues. Also promotes bone regrowth and dead tissue breakdown.

Now listened.

Guest says after caller that his wife had a 'calcium' treated r/c tooth which he later removed... unclear but maybe was standard calc hyd. but applied for only 1-2 days as per norm OR biocalex which was once touted as tubules filler/cleaner but had major problems and no longer around(?)

Not sure guest right that all r/c teeth necessarily systemic health threat. More research needed on treatment methodologies (not being done(?) since seems opinion is that if problems occur they can be zapped with antibiotics - keep hoping).

Holistic dentists seem to err on side of extraction because of fears over infection, but for many loss of function arguably is never acceptably replaced by clip-ons and what-nots. Also he mentioned bridges but usually these are anchored to a good tooth and prepping those for their new supporting role can itself result in their own pulp damage and consequent r/c treatment.

Interesting comment he made about implants, that skin round them 'never heals' and is like having an open wound in the mouth(?)! I've heard about biocompatibility worries but this was something new to worry over.

Facing extraction? Get a second opinion.
