Mr. Capitalist, you are 100% correct. The descriptions are ALL indicative of a very real, and VERY powerful, device of some kind.
It was obviously radio-active, with only "special and ordained people safely able to even touch it". Not only that, but the descriptions of how electrically-charged it was are also indicative of something that should NOT have existed until somewhat recently.
Just a quick note for Charley - I personally AM NOT goyim - I am a proud european man. So please, when you say "my fellow goyim" DO NOT include me in that grouping!
Enjoy the shows now & then but not the way "their" words for us are used, even if sarcastically. We have our own language and much more honor when it comes to describing ourselves than "they" will ever have. Let's stick to our own words & language and save the derogatory stuff for the filthy rats that deserves it more than anyone/thing else.

Two really cool things about the Ark:
1) Indications of it being radioactive, in making unauthorized holders of it sick in a way that sounds like radiation sickness.
2) One heck of a capacitor, with a big blast of electricity if you touched it the wrong way.
