Believable, if you don't put much stock in the freedom of showing most of your body to any Tom, Dick and Harry on the street, just like it wasn't acceptable in the West in the 1950s before the culture turned back on some of its religious and social values that made it strong.
That is not a scottish woman in the intro. it is an englishwoman (who lives in washington state) named emily who used to call into cg's show.
The interview with the woman in the KSA is quite interesting. In fact, I listened to the show after going out to shop for groceries.
What did I wear to the store, here in BC Canada? An abayah.... over an old house gown that is too tattered to be seen in public.
I have a few abayah from back in the day that I have worn for years under such circumstances. The freedom they provide is awesome ~ even in Canada without the scarf.

Personally, I think the international community should attack Saudi based on the accusations he spews against Syria. Youtube is littered with torture of women, Ethiopians, maids, garbage collectors, animals etc by Saudis. You name it, Saudi tortures it. Its enough the international community should be sick to death over. But you dont hear any condemnation from the international community as Saudi has that almighty petro dollar to buy silence from these communities. Its easy to turn a blind eye to real human suffering when you are paid the big bucks to do so. Oh ya, in Saudi, being gay will get your head chopped off!

BnC I am whiter than white. My golden skinned daughters say I am opaque. They get dark in 2 minutes, I just burn. Something to do with my French and Irish blood I suppose.
However, I was married to a Muslim man for a few years and lived in Kerala India as such. I found solace in pure Islam as I have when exploring other paths of religion. When we parted, much to our mutual sorrow, I kept my wardrobe because I loved much of it.
I am not Muslim, I am something else entirely that is not really affiliated with world religions as we know them but I did explore Islam quite deeply for several years. I understand, to a small degree, Islam better than most in the West.
When one's arm is in a sling and dressing is a real pain in the you know where, and all you want is a quart of milk from the corner store, an abayah is a wonderful outfit. Toss it on and go.
As we used to say when I wore one every day, NO ONE knows what you have or do not have on underneath them. Quite a naughty feeling at times I might add.
Nice thing about the hijab was no bad hair days, ever. But I admit I am vain about my long red hair so that was the first to go.

There is no need to bash Islam given the number of degenerates, perverts, freaks, and otherwise, those afflicted with anti-social behavior in Europe and the USA. Islam, unlike many "Western Faiths" have remained true to its doctrine.
The last time I checked, Islamic Nations knew what to do with sexual degenerates, while the West places them on a pedestal and many WN do as well, i.e Kevin Strom and others.
There would be no issue with Islam if the West was not following the orders of their Jew Masters and would get out of the Middle East. German shipped in the Turks and now pay a price, likewise Sweden took in East Africans. The same goes for the USA. The problem is European/American who do the bidding of the Jew and who for Centuries have Raped, Robed & Pillaged in the Middle East. There is a Biblical principle that applies, "You Reap what you Sow". I shed no tears for the current state of England and America for it will hasten their fall and we can create a new. The true measure of a people is how they rebuild after they fall.
