CG view of walking on water in the Dead Sea is not possible : ) wad JC a magician then he could of used trickery to walk on water... But walking on water by balancing yourself is impossible... I'm convinced that JC was a master magicen that if alive today would put David Copperfield to shame or be his equal...
Yeah, walking on the water in the dead sea can't be done. I've floated in the dead sea and it's amazing how buoyant you are, but not so much as to stand on the water ;)
Interesting to hear Charlie go from saying last year that Jesus probably existed as a historical figure but that these stories are all bogus, to entertaining the notion that he was a magician, faking these events.
And Charlie mentioned the matter about Jesus reportedly turning water into wine, and how some Christians (especially evangelicals) claim that it was grape juice, and not wine, and how it's laughable.
On the other extreme of saying all his miracles are to be taking as historical and literal, you have Joseph Atwill who says the Jesus character is the most fictional in all of literature.
I think Charlie is right to think Jesus existed as a historical figure, but I tend to doubt the magician explanation.
Just as the 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness story in Matthew makes Jesus out to be the next Moses, who reportedly wandered in the desert for 40 years, it's symbolic in that context, and by that measure, the turning of water into wine is likely symbolic of Jesus turning the ordinary (water) into the extraordinary (wine), with the symbolism of putting something new into old wineskins (like when he said you commit adultery in your heart by looking at a woman with lust), as opposed to only physically committing adultery.
And in a positive sense, about loving thy neighbour as thyself, as opposed to the Pharisees who were concerned about the slightest violation of their man-made edicts.
Since those people use the same methods over and over again, CG is able to locate them in history whereas they might not be noticed. And of course he has blown the cover on Christianity much like Joe Atwill. History now makes since!

Those who actually love Jewish Secularism and Relativism and the delights of Jewish decadence are the most outspoken Christan Critics.
