A Tribute To Michael Collins Piper, ‘Giant Among Giants’
Jonathan Azaziah's special
program dedicated to our recently fallen brother MCP, discussing what
Mike meant to our movement as well as what he meant to the world
overall, his epic body of work, the malicious disinformation surrounding
his death and the dark place he was in just prior to his passing, as a
warning to all of us not to fall into the same traps of our enemies.
Sometimes heartrending and melancholy, sometimes angry but always
heartfelt, educational and brilliant, but above all, a must listen. Show-page

"the malicious disinformation surrounding his death"
Like Gordon Duff's article at Veterans Today:

If Piper was in great health, and if it happened at the top of his career, then I'd be open to immediate speculation about him being "bumped off," but as Carolyn Yeager pointed out, such speculation within days of the announcement is distasteful.
The late Dr. Stan Monteith wasn't being distasteful when he speculated about Tim Russert being bumped off by the establishment, but I felt it was outlandish, because he incorrectly said that Russert asked John Kerry and Bush about Skull and Bones, and then he was dead, whereas it was actually two and a half years after that incident, and Russert faked phone problems when interviewed by Jack Blood, and Russert wasn't exactly the picture of health himself, so I frankly never saw much reason to suspect that Russert died of foul play.
In the same way as Deanna points out that the alternative media is the perfect place to seed disinfo, since people turn to it as a trustworthy alternative, it is also the place where you will get wild and unwarranted speculation, including about the death of various people that discredits the serious allegations of actual likely assassinations, such as Gary Webb, who they claimed shot himself in the head twice.
Looking again, it was even close to four years between Russert asking about Skull and Bones, and his death.
And re: Michael Piper and "the dark place he was in just prior to his passing"
Bottom line is, get married and have some kids. Don't get old and live alone. And also make sure to save up money over the course of 30 years, as according to the show Carolyn Yeager did, Piper couldn't even sustain himself with Social Security Disability, which he had only recently obtained, and only recently was he able to have enough money to last for a few months, which is otherwise very unusual for someone of his age with a decent job, so he must've burned through his money one way or another.
"couldn't sustain himself with*out* Social Security Disability"
Thanks for posting Whooli. Jonathan gives Michael Collins Piper a fitting eulogy that reminds us of what we all can do to make change. And he reminds us that Michael left us an arsenal of weapons to use in the war....
If I understand the situation, AFP unexpectedly cut Mike's salary prior to actually firing him without any severance or benefits and certainly exploited his talents over a number of years and quite possibly owed him book royalties that he was never paid. Mike started working for Willis Carto in 1980. Living in Washington, even in modest circumstances, is probably somewhat expensive. I do not think that Mike "burned through" his money and in as much as AFP had previously cut off his health insurance, he may have had large medical bills. He spent a lot of money on books, probably ate out a lot as he admitted that the only thing that he knew how to cook was chili. In many homes, it takes two incomes to survive. His unexpected move probably ate up some of his money as well as the storage of his belongings.
46 minutes in, Azaziah mentioned the very significant possibility of plagiarism with the book by Mearsheimer and Walt, The Israel Lobby, from MCP's book, The High Priests of War.
Regardless of intent, if it was actual plagiarism, it would serve at least two intents:
1) Give the authors zero academic and professional credibility.
2) Discredit everything in there in the eyes of most mainstream readers, once it's said to contain plagiarized material from a supposed anti-Semite.
I don't recall reading anti-immigrant articles at the AFP. That said, I have read anti-illegal immigrant articles, which I agree with.
Though his passion is appreciated I have to ask if Jonathan is being PC with his use of anti-immigrant. They are anti-illegal immigration and so am I. Of course and as usual I cringe when he makes his white supremacist charge. Not all white nationalists, who don't like multiculturalism, are white supremacists, but Glenn and Jonathan love to lump the two together. The hate can be a two way street and from what I have seen the non-whites can be just as hateful if not more.
I'll be honest though, I do not receive the AFP paper, and only visit the site about 3 or 4 times per month. But, one could say if they were so anti-immigrant you'd see articles all over the site.
I'm sure the Jewish induced Muslim invasion of Europe may have some influence on what some people write about at AFP. As unfortunate as it is people will always tend to blame what they see in front of them and not who is behind it. It doesn't help that rapes and other crimes have gone up in Europe according to what I heard Henrik at Red Ice say on his shows.
I ofter wonder if the west weren't bombing the middle east and were just illegally crossing the border to live there and began making demands for handouts, displacing the locals from their jobs, raping, committing crimes, etc... would Muslims who live in the west like Jonathon or Muslims who still live in the Middle East still feel the same about multiculturalism or would he be pissed at a mass illegal immigration of his homeland?
A tragic end to a man who was an excellent However, I must say that it is may opinion that Mark Glenn had an unfavorable influence on his views in his closing years. Putting his show behind a paywall almost insured that nobody would hear his podcasts anymore. Glenn may have been partially responsible for Piper's ongoing conflict with the Cartos since Glenn was fired some years back. As far as I know, Piper was the last of the old guard from the 'Spotlight', AFP's predecessor. It's safe to assume that the AFP's subscription and readership has plummeted over the last four or five years, so his salary cut may have been 'just business' and not a personal attack on him. Mind you, I'm not defending the Cartos, but I suspect that the paper is no longer a profitable endeavor.
