I try to see as few Hollywood movies as I can. But when I find myself with friends, or family watching a movie: To see what the movie is "really" doing to you, with social controls or ??
I force myself over and over to ask myself the question: Where is the camera, what angle is it shooting from, what are the lighting and sound doing at the same time.
It's remarkable how much this practice cuts through the Hollywood bullshit!
When you don't get caught up emotionally in the movie, and ask those questions over and over, it's like having a decoder ring.
So true. You have to keep your emotions in check otherwise your critical thinking goes out the window.
