"I think the message here is that we should not live life paralyzed by fear, but instead live life to the fullest. Some very sage advice indeed."

Merry Christmas to all!
Today is the day we celebrate the birth of our King Jesus Christ.
“When the song of the angels is stilled, when the star in the sky is gone, when the kings and princes are home, when the shepherds are back with their flocks, the work of Christmas begins: to find the lost, to heal the broken, to feed the hungry, to release the prisoner, to rebuild the nations, to bring peace among the people, to make music in the heart.”—Howard Thurman, theologian and civil rights activist

Christmas traditions have pagan origins:
Mistletoe and holly: These plants were used in ancient druidic rituals to symbolize protection and renewal. In Roman times, mistletoe was used to honor the god Saturn, and fertility rituals were performed under its branches. In the Druid world, mistletoe symbolized peace and joy.
Christmas trees: The tradition of decorating evergreen trees originated with early Germanic tribes and Roman customs celebrating the winter solstice. The Christmas tree symbolizes hope during the winter months.
Yule log: The Yule log symbolizes everlasting light and life.
Saturnalia: This ancient Roman festival involved feasting and gift-exchanging.
Unconquered Sun: This ancient Roman celebration marked the return of longer days on December 25.
