Today: Dr. David Duke has a fascinating program on the African American journalist, talk show host from WREG in Memphis who interviewed David Duke during his controversial Klan days almost 40 years ago. The current host of the show asked her on her 89th birthday who was your favorite person in all your years as a talk show host to interview and she said rally two, Billy Graham and David Duke, and then she went on to talk about how much she was impressed by David Duke. David Duke addresses the issue of the KKK that the media always brings up in association to Dr. Duke, a group he left over 37 years ago. A good discussion commences with Dr. Slattery and discussion of double standards on the past and present of major people, such as Zionist murderers and of course the media-sainted Nelson Mandela, who is never identified as former Communist and member of a terrorist cell in South Africa. Pretty interesting when you consider that no one in Dr. Duke's group was ever charged with any violence and Dr. Duke has always condemned it. Double standards teach us who really run the media! I was going to put out a statement on my Talk Shoe account on Thursday April 3rd but after speaking with a couple of friends, they helped me realize that my reaction to defend myself was motivated to appease the people at Renegade Broadcasting rather than for my own best interests. So I took time for myself to reflect and actually get out having some fun. That decision led to reuniting with a high school sweet heart that happens to live less than a mile from me. Funny how things happen once you detach yourself from the internet world.

Bill would require Florida craft brewers to sell beer to distributors, then buy it back for resale

Beer, many of us love it. I definitely count myself a fan. A nice hefewiesen on a hot day while grilling burgers is one of the great gifts of life. But stouts, ales, lagers, pilsners, porters, and bocks all have their place. Variety is the spice of life, and beer. And that is why craft brewers have sprouted up like barley shoots all over our great nation over the last decade. It is a golden age for beer drinkers. Never before have beer consumers had so much quality and so much variety.

But the beer distributors are wary. Long a political powerhouse they are not keen on these little breweries sprouting up and selling their product directly to customers. Beer distribution is THEIR business and they want a cut. As such, in Florida the lobbyists have come out in force to get the government to force brewers to first sell their beer to the distributors and then to buy back the beer at a 30-40% markup. The beer doesn’t leave the brewery except with the customer, but the distributors want a law which forces these budding beer businesses to pay up. For nothing.

Sounds like the mafia, except it’s the government.

Freud’s Follies: Psychoanalysis as religion, cult, and political movement.

One tip off to the pseudoscientific nature of psychoanalysis is to describe its institutional structure. In a real science there are no central organizations that function to ensure doctrinal conformity, expel those who deviate from the accepted truth, and present a united front to the world. It has long been apparent to observers, however, that this is exactly what psychoanalysis has done and continues to do. As Crews notes, psychoanalysis 'conducted itself less like a scientific-medical enterprise than like a politburo bent upon snuffing out deviationism' (Crews, 1995, p. 110). Perhaps the first person to notice and be repelled by this aspect of psychoanalysis was the famous Swiss psychiatrist Eugen Bleuler. Bleuler briefly flirted with psychoanalysis. But when he left the psychoanalytic movement in 1911, he said to Freud 'this 'who is not for us is against us,' this 'all or nothing,' is necessary for religious communities and useful for political parties. I can therefore understand the principle as such, but for science I consider it harmful.' (in Gay 1987, pp. 144-145). The quotation is telling. To become a psychoanalyst was like joining a religious or political movement and not at all like becoming a scientist.
The apex of the authoritarian, anti-scientific institutional structure of psychoanalysis was the Secret Committee of hand-picked loyalists sworn to uphold psychoanalytic orthodoxy, described by Phyllis Grosskurth in The Secret Ring: Freud's Inner Circle and the Politics of Psychoanalysis: By insisting the Committee must be absolutely secret, Freud enshrined the principle of confidentiality.
The various psychoanalytic societies that emerged from the Committee were like Communist cells, in which the members vowed eternal obedience to their leader. Psychoanalysis became institutionalized by the founding of journals and the training of candidates; in short an extraordinarily effective political entity. (Grosskurth 1991, p. 15)
