POTUS laughs at the plight of the homeless In America. |
Local governments have come up with a myriad of Constitution-trampling ways to clear out their homeless populations, from sit/lie bans that can land people in jail for sitting down in public, to anti-panhandling measures that empower police to bust people for speaking or holding a sign while being poor. Cops also routinely use anti-loitering and jaywalking laws to hassle the homeless.
The arguments in favor of criminalization tend to go something like this: "We don't want to treat the homeless like subhumans with no rights but an anonymous tourist once complained about them and no tourists will come to our city again!" Or, local merchants have had enough, or some nice lady and her baby were subjected to the horror of having a poor person say a bad word while asking for change. (alternet)

Great Post Foon!e Most people sont understand 50 large U.S. cities have adopted "anti-camping" or "anti-food sharing" laws in recent years, and in many of these cities the police are strictly enforcing these laws.
It is all part of the not-so-gradual turning USA into a third world, hellhole, police state, toward the ultimate goal of a one world death and slavery system for all - the New World Order.
Try to give help, give small jobs at your residence, to a homeless person. Many ways to directly help them.
Christian charity must operate outsdie of "Christian churches" and their government/beaureaucratic ways.
Homeless people need to be controlled.
If they are mentally insane (which the majority are), they need to be institutionalized. They can be given meaningful work while they are in the insitutions, and learn how to clean up after themselves, and clean their rooms, etc. If they can prove they can function in society, or can find a responsible family member to house them, fine.
I don't want these often agressive and nasty people accosting me or my family.
And the other commenter who suggested allowing these people into your homes for odd jobs, is asking for trouble. Look what happened to Elizabeth Smart. And there are thousands of other cases of these bums being "helped", and end up robbing the good-hearted person blind, or becoming a never-ending nuisance.
Finally, the reason that cities ban giving food to bums is because of the lawyers. These filthy lawyers will shut down a kid's lemonade stand for the same reason. It's technically illegal to give food to the public without a license, and these parasite lawyers who specialize in this kind of sh*t will always find you eventually and make you cease and desist, even if you're helping someone. The cities aren't doing this to be "mean".
I've been homeless so to speak and do not like homeless people. They are mostly totally irresponsible and make a big mess wherever they are. When being homeless it was due to wanting to be where the jobs are and setting up a spot where I would be near to the site. Rent is so expensive that most of what you earn just goes to paying rent and they require a lease which binds you to eirher losing a deposit of staying longer than you want.
Where I stay I make a policy of cleaning up the area and carry out a bag of trash every time I leave and not to leave traces that I was there. But the trash I carry away is from homeless slobs who leave piles of trash and they also steal chopping catts and leave them in despolate places including in drainage canals and even in the water. There are places where dozens of perfectly good shopping carts are just abandoned and this costs everyone money.
Organized areas need to be set up where homeless can stay but make them responsible for keeping the place clean.provide bathrooms showers and food and clothing distribution. Obnoxious homeless people should be arrested.
Mike Smith, you make some valid points.
I just do not intend the system prevent me from trying to give direct help when I can.
As for the "insane" aggressive homeless types, the system made them way and let them out of the hospital early and on purpose so that they could be a menace to society and die in the streets.
The state hospitals for the mentally ill are so morally corupt and corupt in every other way as well, that I almost think the person out on the streets is a better, albeit shortened, life for the person.
"It's technically illegal to give food to the public without a license"
That may be true, but one person giving food to one other person on a private basis, even though done on the streets, would not seem to be a breaking of the law. Guess all the legal terms need legal definitions.
I keep thinking of the guys who went to the other side of the road rather than stop and help the guy that the good samaritan did stop and help.
Mike smith .. The reason the will be broke if you feed another person food is because they want control Rothschild is recross and JP Morgan makes money on food stamps .. 43.6 million Americans are using food stamps. JPMorgan’s segment that makes food stamp debit cards made $10.47 billion in net revenue in 2012. Not to mention all the New drug testing they experiment on with poor people .
