It's like the report by all 16 U.S. intelligence agencies unanimously concluding that Iran had abandoned any active attempts at acquiring a nuclear weapons program in 2003, after the Iraq invasion, just as Bush and his neocon allies were musing about a pre-emptive strike against Iran before the following year's election.
