Linux Mint: An alternative to being spied on

I've been using the Linux operating system since 2000. Back then, Slackware Linux was rough and for nerds only. In 2017 Linux Mint is as easy to use (easier!) as anything Apple or Microsoft have to offer with one added bonus: you're not spied on. I hooked up Brizer with Linux Mint 18.1 and figured he'd be use to it in about a week. It took him one day. Learn how to take control of your gear by building your own rig and installing your own OS. The Linux OS (any distro) is a big step in the direction of control and privacy.

I second Mint - great desktop/laptop distro. Slackware is still around and still maintained by Volkerding
