What’s at stake this election year? Let me put as directly as I can.America has succumbed to a vicious cycle in which great wealth translates into political power, which generates even more wealth, and even more power.
This spiral is most apparent is declining tax rates on corporations and on top personal incomes (much in the form of wider tax loopholes), along with a profusion of government bailouts and subsidies (to Wall Street bankers, hedge-fund partners, oil companies, casino tycoons, and giant agribusiness owners, among others). The vicious cycle of wealth and power is less apparent, but even more significant, in economic rules that now favor the wealthy.

All of the reports from that night described the men as “North African and Arabian” in appearance. The New York City Commission on Human Rights has issued rules that fine employers for referring to transsexuals by their real gender. The new “guidance” (“NYC Pronoun Ban”), which has power to levy hefty fines against “violators” who “discriminate,” is an extension of the New York City Human Rights Law, based on the city’s laws against gender discrimination. Failing to use an individual’s preferred name or pronoun, under the new ban, will be considered a violation of New York City Human Rights Law, punishable by fines up to $250,000.
“Refusal to use a transgender employee’s preferred name, pronoun, or title (e.g., Ms./Mrs.) may constitute unlawful gender-based harassment,” the new NYC Pronoun Ban reads.

During World War II, Hitler decided not to invade the Swiss because he realized that he would be fighting not just an army but an entire people and concluded that the invasion would not be worth the cost. And now it seems that the tiny country of Switzerland might once again be setting an example when it comes to protecting itself from invasion and tyranny.
