It's probably more like part 309, but, really, he's not bashing the Bible, since the Bible bashes itself at times, with verses like this which he cited, where a rape victim is required to marry her rapist:
Deuteronomy 22:28-29:
"28 If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;
29 Then the man that lay with her shall give unto the damsel's father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife; because he hath humbled her, he may not put her away all his days."
Well I'm sure jews and other sick people interpret it as rape, and probably that's how the author meant it - but - 'take hold' has a wide range of meaning.
It could be symbolically as in 'capturing her heart', captivating her, entrancing her - many things that are not 'against' her will.
In fact, every male/female relationship has a certain element of 'capturing her' or 'submission' and if you don't know that, it means you've never had a woman.

That is the description of literal rape, of that there is no doubt.
"Laying-hold" on someone or something means to physically take-possession-of, and do what you will with it, as it is "yours".
I never knew of this passage, but that is pretty significant.
