There was an application by one of the networks to place a 5G mast on my street, about 50 yards from my house. So I went to the planning portal of the local council and downloaded the associated literature, then went through it with a fine tooth comb; there was a booklet from some government agency or other claiming that non-ionising radiation was perfectly safe and a blanco Word document saying the same thing, but with no name or signature, or even heading from the agency involved... it was all rather vague and peculiar.
It seems the council were not accepting health concerns as a reason for refusal of the application, nor the effect on property values of the adjacent homes; the only thing they would consider as grounds for refusal were the aesthetics of the installation, which was lucky for us as the location was on the edge of a beautiful park.
So equipped with this knowledge, I went to work. I made sure all the neighbours of the surrounding streets, and everyone I met in the park, were aware of the application, of the health hazards of 5G, the detrimental effect on their property values, their privacy, their quality of life, but NOT to include that in their objections to the council. Instead, they should focus on how the gargantuan mast would ruin the park aesthetically and was 'absolutely out of the question'.
We won!
But one troubling thing I noticed was that from the Millenials down, most were in favour of the mast and would absolutely not accept that 5G radiation was harmful in any way. I think the schools and colleges have done a job on them to be convinced of this.
Luckily the younguns were too lazy to submit a vote in favour of the mast.
As an addendum; included in the bumf that I downloaded from the council, was a case history of a similar application, in Worcester, by the same network, where the locals had objected, the council had upheld the objection, but Central government had sent their man on a mission down to overrule the council's decision and grant permission anyway.
So the sneaky overpaid bitch, who was submitting the application, was employing demoralisation tactics to make us think that it was not worth the effort to object.
I did a cursory internet search on this woman, and discovered that she had been installing these death masts all over the country, and seemed to be doing rather nicely, thank you.
