Linux creator admits NSA demanded backdoor
Speaking at the keynote LinuxCon panel this year, Linus Torvalds, who
created the open-source Linux operating system 22 years ago, revealed
that the government had approached him about installing a backdoor into
system’s structure. Linux is the preferred operating system for the
privacy conscious infosec community.
It’s just the latest in a string of revelations illustrating how the NSA have for a number of years attempted to intervene in the very structuring of online communications and cryptography to enable easier surveillance.

At least, that's the thinking behind the Scientific American's recent editorial, "Labels for GMO Food Are a Bad Idea." It argues, "Instead of providing people with useful information, mandatory GMO labels would only intensify the misconception that so-called Frankenfoods endanger people's health."
For the Scientific American, this would only increase consumer costs, declaring that "such labels have limited people's options" in Europe, where it concedes that companies dropped GM ingredients after consumers avoided them, bemoaning that "today it is virtually impossible to find GMOs in European supermarkets."

Israelis use force on EU diplomats
| French Diplomat dragged away By Israeli Bastards. |
Israeli troops have used force to disperse a group of European diplomats, who attempted to hand out tents to Palestinian Bedouins.
The diplomats were accompanying aid workers in an effort to distribute tents and emergency aid to Bedouins in the village of Khirbet Al-Makhul on Friday.
The troops threw sound grenades at the group and pulled a French diplomat out of an aid truck before it drove away. (presstv)
