Now, in retrospect.
This family did what had to be done in their minds in that situation to protect themselves and their property. Everyone is saying this is justified, more or less.
Go back in time.
A sleeping child is abducted from bed, molested and killed. The grieving parent in righteous anger takes vengeance on the perpetrator and faces criminal charges. This has happened often enough that we know it is true.
What am I missing here?
