Man on mission to build tiny houses for Los Angeles homeless

LOS ANGELES (AP) — After Elvis Summers built a tiny house on wheels for a woman who had been sleeping on the streets, he launched a crowdfunding campaign to construct similar shelters for other homeless people in his South Los Angeles neighborhood.

He had no grand ambitions beyond lending a helping hand in a city with thousands of residents without roofs over their heads
. “Honestly I thought I’d raise enough money to help a dozen people, call it a day, and then go back to stressing about my job,” said the 38-year-old, who runs an online apparel store.

Summers never thought more than 5.6 million people would watch a YouTube video of him constructing the 8-foot-long house for “Smokie,” a grandmother who’s been homeless for more than a decade. He estimates he spent less than $500 on plywood, shingles, a window and a door. The video ends with Smokie doing a little jig and hanging up a “Home Sweet Home” sign.

How far that little candle throws his beams!
So shines a good deed in a naughty world.

All you need is prefabricated geodesic domes on a few worthless golf courses. They're cheap, they're supersolid and they're effective. They even look cool.

Fuller solved all these problems over 60 years ago and people are still confused about what to do "for the homeless." The peons need to just smack the bastards peeing on them and get on with it already.

Modern society is about pretending there are all kinds of goddamn problems when there are none. Or more accurately, a bunch of complete assholes creating all the problems and then the reaction and the solution which is even worse than the original problem.

As long as people continue having this absurd illusion that they can't be programmed subconsciously, that they have unconditional willpower, nothing will ever change. We only have CONDITIONAL willpower, on the condition that WE take charge of the programming of our own subconscious, not some ass-clowns putting "buttcodes" in children's cartoons.
