When actor Jussie Smollett paid two fellow actors to fake a “hate
crime” against him, he was expecting to have the act filmed on a nearby
security camera; only the fact that the security camera was pointed in
the other direction foiled the plan.
So, consider: if the security camera had caught the action, social
media would have been flooded with a video of two masked men, their
faces – and races – obscured, wearing red ballcaps similar to the famous
“Make America Great Again” Trump campaign hats, attacking Smollett.
If you had expressed any sort of doubt, if you had expressed any
reservation at taking the narrative at face value, you would have been
immediately branded a “conspiracy theorist.” The accusation would have
stuck, too, because there would be video – and video is the gold
standard for “proof.”
