A dog tested positive for coronavirus. Should pets be quarantined?

News that a dog tested positive for the coronavirus in Hong Kong likely set off alarm bells this week among pet owners. While there's no indication the virus can spread to humans from dogs, some experts say there may be a need for quarantines among pets of owners who contract the virus.

"If you have a dog, cat or ferret, and you're isolating at home, those animals should be isolated at home with you." - Prof. J. Scott Weese, University of Guelph's Ontario Veterinary College It's clown world folks!! honk honk LOL

What do you do if you are one of eight siblings all living at home with mum and dad and grandma along with the pet dog and cat if you have the "virus"? Being quarantined at home is not going to work, is it?

PS: is it a bio-weapon?

Once again, I'm not going to be persuaded to believe in evolution!

Has a dog or cat ever been tested for a cold or the flu? Have any parrots or parakeets been tested for the bird flu?

Saw an Australian news report the other days. Vets are getting calls to have pets euthanized so that families won't catch the virus. They are not doing it of course but there had been at least a dozen calls.

Next it will be Grandma. Out behind the barn and a bullet.
