There is obviously the time-lag between Europe and North America. I stayed up all night and watched coverage of the rally in Berlin and it appears that the cops in Berlin were doing everything they could to prevent people from outside of Berlin from joining the rally by closing the roads into Berlin. Even with these tyrannical measures, there still was a huge gathering of people.
As one can see from the footage also, the police just continually kept arresting people and taking them away. Tim Truth covered it live with some friends as it was happening. Here it is for those of you interested:
