Oster is the JJE Goldman-Sachs Professor of Economics, International Affairs and Public Affairs at Brown University, Providence, Rhode Island.
Brown University is a private Ivy League institution and the seventh oldest educational collegiate in the US.
Oster’s involvement in the Covid saga derives from her acknowledged “expertise” as a “parenting advisor.” She hosts a website to this purpose and has written a series of controversial but best-selling books, largely focussing on the greater empowerment of women and children within the American family home.
It was in this capacity as families guru, that her views were solicited by the media throughout the woeful Covid debacle. She publically advocated for the vaccination of 5 to 11 year olds, as soon as the CDC had confirmed that the Pfizer trials “proved” that the drug was safe to inject into over 5’s. Professor Oster was sufficiently reassured by the CDC’s authorization of the use of the preparatory on infants, that she publically announced that she would, therefore, have her own two, elementary school-aged kids, vaccinated. Whether she actually did or not, who’s to say?
Emily Oster is very much complicit in the megadeath. She may be worried about her legal culpability; she may feel a degree of guilt but you wouldn’t be able to guess that from her article. She makes no mention of her own role, whatsoever.
The curious aspect of her appeal, is that she doesn’t call for clemency for those individuals who were aware of the potential health risks involved and who persisted, anyway, in dispensing erroneous medical advice. On the contrary, it is the deliberate purveyors of misinformation who have to be held accountable and not those individuals (like herself, presumably) who were mislead by the selfsame liars.
Hmm…Who is she actually pointing the finger at then? We know that the pharmaceutical companies themselves have immunity from prosecution and all disinformation seeded in the public domain originated by their efforts, so isn’t Emily Oster’s plea for discretionary judgement meaningless, other than perhaps as some kind of tactical manouevering?
Actually, no. Her opinion piece is wholly ulterior purposed, in fact. Let’s remind ourselves that her professorial tenure is an endowment of the Goldman-Sachs banking house. Whom else does she mean to include by the use of the plural forms, “let’s” and “we” in her headline exhortation? She’s speaking at the behest of her sponsors, of course. This becomes immediately clear upon reading her article in The Atlantic:
“Obviously some people intended to mislead and made wildly irresponsible claims. Remember when the public health community had to spend a lot of time and resources urging Americans not to inject themselves with bleach?”
“We can leave out the willful purveyors of actual misinformation while forgiving the hard calls that people had no choice but to make with imperfect knowledge.”
Those two paragraphs should tell you all you need to know. It’s all about targeting Trump. Again. I’d suggest that it’s less about the mid-terms than it is further defamation and intimidation of the former president. It was Trump, of course, who incautiously referred to bleach as a possible remedial for Covid-19 at a press conference on the White House lawn. He certainly did not advise “injecting” bleach. The issue was vigorously debated here, at this website, at the time. Lots of people, it seemed then, simply didn’t know what a bleach is and immediately presumed that Trump meant detergent. However, bleaching agents include, for example, UV radiation from the Sun; certain types of clay can bleach skin and certain health remedials, of proven efficacy, such as Hydoxychloroquine and H2O2 therapy bleach.

They say they were MISLED despite all of the independent, reliable, medical and scientific evidence showing right from the beginning of the pandemic the official narrative was totally false and fraudulent.
