I have long believed that similar deals were made to the auto manufacturers around 2007, when the decision was made to trash the economy, because it seems like all government vehicles, these days, are brand new, top of the line cars and trucks. Seems like a perfect, stealth way to prop up the auto industry with public money, IMO.
