Also, in December 1972 I drove over to the Cape to watch the nightime launch of Apollo 17 and, while they could have faked the visual effects, they couldn't have faked the extreme acoustic effects... just sayin'

Yeah I believe they went to the Moon. I don't think they faked SIX landings, an orbital mission, and a fake oxygen tank malfunction explosion.
